Ayodhya Gears Up to Light 2.5 Million Diyas for Historic Deepotsav Celebration

Ayodhya is preparing for the eighth Deepotsav celebration on Wednesday.
The Uttar Pradesh government wants to set a world record. They plan to light over 2.5 million diyas along the Saryu River and more than 3.5 million in the city on November 30. This year is special because it’s the first Diwali at the new Ram Janmabhoomi temple.
Event Schedule
The celebrations will begin in the morning. The event will mix spirituality, culture, and tradition.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other officials will attend.
At 10 AM, volunteers will fill diyas with oil. A procession will start from Saket Mahavidyalaya.
It will show 18 tableaux that depict scenes from the Ramayana. Artists from six countries will perform traditional dances.
At 2:30 PM, the Chief Minister will lead the coronation of Lord Ram and Sita.
He will also speak to the public. In the evening, the Chief Minister will perform aarti with 1,100 batuks and 157 saints.
The lighting of over 2.8 million diyas will start at dusk.

Security Measures
To keep everyone safe, 17 bylanes to Ram Ki Paidi have been sealed. Only pass holders, volunteers, and officials can enter.
Two hundred commandos from various security forces will protect the area.
